Any idea if KrisFlyer retroactive mileage claim counts towards your KF tier status?

Hi gurus, hope you can help with this.

I’m currently earning/saving/storing/hoarding points on Velocity and Amex with the intention of transferring to SQ KrisFlyer (I’m in the process of “transferring” from EK to SQ, for various reasons).

I haven’t yet signed up with Krisflyer, because I want to start the membership period as late as I possibly can so I can get few more flights in within the same membership year and get up to Gold quickly.

I was thinking I’d sign up the day of my first flight. Then I thought, “hey, I wonder if I can claim the miles after the flight, and if so, do they count toward KF tier status?”.

I found that I can claim for miles up to 6 months after the flight:

"Retroactive mileage claims that are made prior to enrolment in KrisFlyer are only valid for Singapore Airlines flights and must have taken place no longer than 6 months prior to enrolment."

I assume these would count toward KF tier status but can't find confirmation of that.
Found it difficult to get this across on the phone to KF membership, so am hoping that the gurus of PointHacks.com can help.
Many thanks.
Doug

Pretty much as soon as I clicked “Submit”, I got this from SQ:\r\n\r\nWe wish to share that Elite miles are earned together with KrisFlyer miles for eligible classes of service on Singapore Airlines, SilkAir, Virgin Atlantic or any Star Alliance carrier.\r\n \r\nOnce your retroactive mileage claims is being submitted and approved, KrisFlyer/Elite miles will be credited to your KrisFlyer account, subject to the eligible class of service.\r\n \r\nYou may refer to the link provided for more information on the mileage accrual for Singapore Airlines, SilkAir and our partner airlines.\r\n \r\nhttp://www.singaporeair.com/pdf/ppsclub_krisflyer/charts/KFOALLevels.pdf\r\n\r\nSo that’s case closed, but interested to hear any comments regarding your experience.\r\n\r\nThanks!
