Flying to US & Europe on Various Frequent Flyer Points - How to Find the best usage?

Hi,

My points balance is as follows:
209,145 Qantas
6,679 Virgin Velocity
84,991 AMEX Membership Rewards

I’m planning a trip for Aug-Sep going like this:
Perth => LA / San Francisco => Copenhagen => Perth

Obviously the first and last leg are more straight forward (but would still of course appreciate any insights!).
How do I go about finding the best way to use my points to get from LA to Copenhagen?

Do you reckon for such a relative complex trip it is worth using an award points booking service and if so which one?

Thanks heaps, your help is VERY much appreciated

Hi,

Playing with the QFF Using Points Calculator, I found the following:

PER-MEL-LAX (stopover) - LON-Copenhagen (stopover) - Dubai - PER for 165000 Qantas points in economy.

PER-SYD-SFO(stopover) - LON-Copenhagen (stopover) - Dubai - PER for 160000 Qantas points in economy.

If you plan to use your Amex points, you could do:

PER-LAX 55k Asia Miles, 60k Enrich, 75k VFF

LAX-CPH 40k Asia Miles, 47.3k Etihad

CPH-PER 48k Enrich, 55k Asia Miles, 65k VFF

It may be worthwhile investigating using Asia Miles as they allow stopovers -> costs less points (conditions apply). Point Hack article on this topic -link-
