Do you know any sneaky Perth Frequent flyer flights with good availability for late September?

I’ve left it too late to book a holiday in late September… but i’m trying anyway. I’m looking at 5 days away between wed 28 Sept and Sun 2 oct.

I’m trying to fly from Perth to somewhere interesting using frequent flyer points. I’m not too fussed where it is. I’ve got 130k velocity, 96k Qantas and 94k Altitude points. I need to get my wife and myself somewhere. I’m happy to spend a little bit as well. I’d prefer to use the points for economy flights rather than upgrades (i know… not as good value).

I can’t quite make Hong Kong work on points. Bali, Melb and Broome are fully booked. Sydney has a smidge of availability. I’ve searched everything I can think of on Qantas, Velocity and Asia Miles but if anyone can think of something worth searching i’d appreciate any tips.

Thanks

Hi Maldo,

This is a fairly complex question. It depends on your flavour of destination, preference of airlines, willingness of longer transit times and number of stops. Maybe best to consult Luke at TravelManagers Australia.(http://www.pointhacks.com.au/travel-agent/) Hopefully, they help with non-premium flights too.

Qantas has a handy tool (“Where could I go”)

Link: Fly with the Spirit of Australia | Qantas

From Perth, you can get to Auckland, Ayers Rock, Christchurch, Singapore, Townsville and Wellington on economy return for 2.

Or you could go further by flying one way on Qantas and return on Velocity. The possibilities are endless.

Quick search on availabilities, there are some flights to Singapore on Jetstar in late Sept. That could be done solely on Qantas Points. You can also try Virgin on the same route. Singapore is a wonderful city to visit but may be a bit pricey for some.

Happy planning.

Hi maldo - might I suggest you sign up for the brand-new, shiny, Impulse Points website? You seem like the perfect candidate!

It’s a newsletter/service for late-notice (week-and-a-bit away) award seat availability, which may or may not help you out here. But you might be surprised what you can pick up!
