In the lead up to a recent flight to NYC i was actively chasing points to get enough points for 2x business upgrades on QF.
In the process i applied for 3x new Qantas credit cards: ANZ, HSBC & NAB.
i thought that the ANZ would come through first being applied for almost 3 months before the travels although surprisingly it still hasnt come through and the HSBC (6 weeks prior) and NAB (3 weeks prior) have just come in [mind you 5 days after my return flight] but still surprisingly quickly in comparison. If i had known this prior i would’ve applied for the “quicker” cards earlier and reaped the benefits rather than making additional purchases to make sure i had sufficient points.
