Amex Gold Charge + Platinum Edge deal still running?

I spotted an older post from Keith the other day about signing up for an Amex Gold Charge card and then being able to apply for a Platinum Edge card for free as well: http://www.pointhacks.com.au/american-express-gold-charge-card-guide/

However, the referral links on that page don't seem to work anymore. Has the deal ended, or is it still going?

Yes, but Plat Edge is free already for first year plus some bonus AMEX MR points if you use reference links from other thread!

Unfortunately American Express canned the Gold Charge card and it’s no longer in the referral program.
